Kansas City — The Missouri Thunder ruined what would have been a storybook homestead for The Kansas City Outlaws.
The Thunder upset The Outlaws during the final day of PBR Teams: Outlaw Days, ending Kansas City's hopes of going undefeated over the weekend.
Felipe Furlan set the tone for the Thunder on Sunday. He tamed Doze You Down long enough to post a score of 91.75, the highest ride score of the weekend. The Outlaws would respond and regain the lead behind two solid rides from Brennon Eldred and Koltin Hevalow. That’s when Missouri’s Paulo Eduardo Rossetto would announce his presence with authority. Rossetto 87.75 points on Mike’s Motive to give the Thunder a walk off win during the final game of the day. Missouri defeated their in-state rival 179.5 – 175.
The Thunder are currently No. 7 in the PBR Teams standings after going 1-1 in Kansas City, while the Outlaws finished their homestand 2-1 and maintained their No. 2 ranking. Despite the loss on Sunday, Kansas City remains the hottest team in the league, winning nine of their last 11 contests.
