Should parents be held accountable for their child’s crime? Parents of two victims murdered in the Oxford School Shooting talk about the recent convictions of the shooter’s parents. And a mother who lost her son due to an unsecured firearm, pleads with parents to keep their guns secured.
When the parents of the Oxford High School shooter were convicted of involuntary manslaughter, the victims’ families felt some justice was served. News on Merit Street anchor and former criminal prosecutor, Loni Coombs, flew to Detroit to sit down with two parents who lost their child in this horrific shooting. Steve St. Juliana, Hana’s father and Nicole Beausoleil, Madison Baldwin’s mother, say although this conviction is completely justified, they want the school to be held accountable too. Dr. Phil meets Kristin Song who lost her son in an accidental shooting. She says if that gun was stored properly, her son would still be alive today. Plus in part 2 Judge Rosemarie Aquilina, defense attorney Mariell Lehman, Loni Coombs and Dr. Phil continue their debate on whether parents should be held accountable for the crimes committed by their children.
